Accountant - accounts payable (Louisville, KY)

Nova Timber Learning Group Partners operates schools and learning programmes around Louisville, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. We follow the school calendar and we like people who like learning. What you will do • Track costs around attendance records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to learning materials, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Louisville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
