Accountant - accounts payable (Louisville, KY)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Fern Inspection Services Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. Technicians travel and report carefully. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around field inspections against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to scheduling, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with scheduling. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Louisville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
