Accountant - accounts payable (Little Rock, AR)

Foxglove Basin Arts Center is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for visitor services, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Everyone pitches in on show days. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around school partnerships against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to visitor services, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with visitor services. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Little Rock. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
