Accountant - accounts payable (Little Rock, AR)

Bright Wren Farms supplies farm and food customers across the Little Rock region, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Seasons are busy and the rest of the year is for planning. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to seasonal crews, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around cold storage against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with seasonal crews. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Little Rock. • We reply to every applicant.
