Accountant - accounts payable (Las Vegas, NV)

Summit Lakeside Telecom builds and runs fibre and wireless networks in the Las Vegas area, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around outage reports against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service installations, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Las Vegas. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
