Accountant - accounts payable (Knoxville, TN)

Nova Harbor Banking Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for account openings, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 26 people based in Knoxville. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to account openings, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with account openings.
