Accountant - accounts payable (Knoxville, TN)

Foxglove Field Water Authority Group operates treatment plants and pipelines around Knoxville. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. Safety and public health guide our decisions. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to water quality, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with water quality. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Knoxville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
