Accountant - accounts payable (Knoxville, TN)

Stonegate Glen Environmental Services Group collects and processes waste and recycling around Knoxville. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. We take pride in clean streets. What you will do • Track costs around recycling loads against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to weigh tickets, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with weigh tickets. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Knoxville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
