Accountant - accounts payable (Knoxville, TN)

Stonegate Cobalt Medical is a Knoxville company producing monitoring and surgical equipment. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around device records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to complaint handling, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with complaint handling. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Knoxville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
