Accountant - accounts payable (Knoxville, TN)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Vista Financial and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. Trust is the product, so accuracy and clarity matter. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to loan applications, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with loan applications. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Knoxville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
