Accountant - accounts payable (Jacksonville, FL)

Summit Glen Banking Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for fraud alerts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 16 people based in Jacksonville. What you will do • Track costs around branch operations against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to fraud alerts, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
