Accountant - accounts payable (Jacksonville, FL)

We are growing our team at Redstone Junction Housing and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with maintenance stores. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Jacksonville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
