Accountant - accounts payable (Jacksonville, FL)

Redstone River Auto Group is a Jacksonville company supplying vehicle parts and service. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of about 867 people based in Jacksonville. What you will do • Track costs around parts orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service appointments, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Jacksonville. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
