Accountant - accounts payable (Jacksonville, FL)

Ironwood Meridian Banking Services provides everyday banking and small-business lending around Jacksonville. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 43 people based in Jacksonville. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to account openings, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around deposit accounts against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with account openings. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Jacksonville. • We reply to every applicant.
