Accountant - accounts payable (Jackson, MS)

Redstone Bright Manufacturing is a Jackson manufacturer supplying regional industrial customers, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 19 people based in Jackson. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to tooling, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around scrap and rework against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with tooling. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Jackson, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
