Accountant - accounts payable (Indianapolis, IN)

Clearpath Lakeside Farms Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for cold storage, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 41 people based in Indianapolis. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to cold storage, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around field records against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with cold storage. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Indianapolis, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
