Accountant - accounts payable (Indianapolis, IN)

Bluepeak Harbor Care Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for client records, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to client records, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with client records. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Indianapolis, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
