Accountant - accounts payable (Houston, TX)

Northwind Lakeside Legal Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for intake forms, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. People here care about clients, not just cases. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to intake forms, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with intake forms. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Houston. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
