Accountant - accounts payable (Houston, TX)

Highbridge Pine Medical builds devices used by hospitals and clinics, with its team based in Houston, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 155 people based in Houston. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to clinical evaluations, and clear open items. • Track costs around training materials against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with clinical evaluations. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
