Accountant - accounts payable (Honolulu, HI)

Highbridge Meadow Housing Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for maintenance stores, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Collaboration with local agencies is constant. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around resident services against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to maintenance stores, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with maintenance stores. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Honolulu. • We reply to every applicant.
