Accountant - accounts payable (Honolulu, HI)

Stonegate West Energy is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for hardship programmes, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 75 people based in Honolulu. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around meter readings against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to hardship programmes, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with hardship programmes. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Honolulu. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
