Accountant - accounts payable (Honolulu, HI)

Amberfield Juniper Hospitality is a hospitality company in Honolulu with restaurants, rooms and catering. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 14 people based in Honolulu. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around supplier orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to group events, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with group events. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Honolulu. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
