Accountant - accounts payable (Hartford, CT)

Redstone Juniper Inspection Services Group is an inspection company in Hartford with field technicians and lab staff. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around scheduling against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to field inspections, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with field inspections. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Hartford. • We reply to every applicant.
