Accountant - accounts payable (Fresno, CA)

We are growing our team at Rivermark Hollow Freight and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. Dispatch, drivers and warehouse staff talk to each other constantly. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer tracking, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Fresno. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
