Accountant - accounts payable (Fresno, CA)

We are growing our team at Foxglove Sparrow Arts Center Partners and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. Evenings and weekends are part of the job. What you will do • Track costs around school partnerships against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to exhibitions, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with exhibitions. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Fresno. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
