Accountant - accounts payable (Fort Worth, TX)

Bright Keystone Transit Planning is a transit-planning firm in Fort Worth working with agencies and riders. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. Work is collaborative and map-heavy. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to route schedules, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with route schedules. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Fort Worth. • We reply to every applicant.
