Accountant - accounts payable (El Paso, TX)

Westbrook Beacon Markets Group serves neighbourhoods around El Paso with fresh food and everyday goods. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around store inventory against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to online orders, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in El Paso. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
