Accountant - accounts payable (El Paso, TX)

We are growing our team at Bluepeak Bright Markets Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to supplier deliveries, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around store inventory against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with supplier deliveries. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in El Paso. • We reply to every applicant.
