Accountant - accounts payable (Des Moines, IA)

We are growing our team at Silverline Willow Manufacturing and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. We value people who work safely and speak up. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to work orders, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around customer orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with work orders. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
