Accountant - accounts payable (Des Moines, IA)

We are growing our team at Rivermark Field Medical and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 84 people based in Des Moines. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Des Moines. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
