Accountant - accounts payable (Denver, CO)

Lumen Drift Foods is a Denver food manufacturer supplying grocers and food-service customers. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 86 people based in Denver. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to allergen controls, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around production batches against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Denver. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
