Accountant - accounts payable (Denver, CO)

Westbrook Sable Staffing is a Denver staffing firm for warehouse, office and healthcare roles. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. Speed and follow-up matter. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around retention against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to temp assignments, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Denver, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
