Accountant - accounts payable (Dallas, TX)

Clearpath Basin Environmental Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for collection routes, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Early starts and steady work; we look after our drivers. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to collection routes, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with collection routes. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Dallas, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
