Accountant - accounts payable (Dallas, TX)

Westbrook Drift Banking Services is a community-focused bank in Dallas serving households and small businesses, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 21 people based in Dallas. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around branch operations against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to account openings, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with account openings. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
