Accountant - accounts payable (Dallas, TX)

Silverline Press is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for proofing, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We like people who notice details. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to proofing, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with proofing. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Dallas. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
