Accountant - accounts payable (Dallas, TX)

Westbrook Ashton Arts Center is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for volunteer programmes, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Dallas. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to volunteer programmes, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around ticketing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with volunteer programmes. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Dallas. • We reply to every applicant.
