Accountant - accounts payable (Dallas, TX)

We are growing our team at Clearpath Fern Freight and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 19 people based in Dallas. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to claims, and clear open items. • Track costs around customer tracking against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Dallas. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
