Accountant - accounts payable (Columbus, OH)

Highbridge Vista Housing is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for lease compliance, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Collaboration with local agencies is constant. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around maintenance stores against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with lease compliance. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Columbus. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
