Accountant - accounts payable (Columbus, OH)

Ironwood Corner Housing Group manages affordable housing communities across Columbus, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of about 853 people based in Columbus. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to waiting lists, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with waiting lists. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Columbus. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
