Accountant - accounts payable (Columbus, OH)

Nova Rook Markets Group operates grocery and general-merchandise stores around Columbus. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around online orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to shrink and waste, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with shrink and waste. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Columbus. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
