Accountant - accounts payable (Columbus, OH)

Amberfield Rowan Banking Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for fraud alerts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 915 people based in Columbus. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around deposit accounts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to fraud alerts, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with fraud alerts. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Columbus. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
