Accountant - accounts payable (Colorado Springs, CO)

Westbrook Sparrow Foods is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for sanitation schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around customer specifications against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with sanitation schedules. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Colorado Springs. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
