Accountant - accounts payable (Colorado Springs, CO)

Amberfield Corner Learning Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for family communication, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 190 people based in Colorado Springs. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around enrolment against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with family communication. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Colorado Springs. • We reply to every applicant.
