Accountant - accounts payable (Colorado Springs, CO)

Bluepeak Loom Construction builds commercial and industrial projects around Colorado Springs. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of about 982 people based in Colorado Springs. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to permits, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around project schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with permits.
