Accountant - accounts payable (Cincinnati, OH)

We are growing our team at Highbridge Pine Manufacturing Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 166 people based in Cincinnati. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to machine downtime, and clear open items. • Track costs around production lines against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Cincinnati. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
