Accountant - accounts payable (Cincinnati, OH)

Nova Vale Housing provides affordable homes and support services around Cincinnati. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. We value patience and follow-through. What you will do • Track costs around rent assistance against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to repair requests, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with repair requests. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Cincinnati. • We reply to every applicant.
