Accountant - accounts payable (Cincinnati, OH)

Summit Rook Water Authority supplies drinking water and treats wastewater for Cincinnati and nearby communities, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Our work is invisible when it goes well, and we are proud of that. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meter reading, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with meter reading. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Cincinnati. • We reply to every applicant.
