Accountant - accounts payable (Cincinnati, OH)

We are growing our team at Ironwood Bridge Energy Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. Reliability is the job, and people here take pride in answering the phone at 3 a.m. when needed. What you will do • Track costs around outage response against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service connections, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with service connections. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Cincinnati, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
