Accountant - accounts payable (Cincinnati, OH)

Bright Corner Water Authority operates treatment plants and pipelines around Cincinnati. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. Our work is invisible when it goes well, and we are proud of that. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to water quality, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with water quality. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Cincinnati. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
