Accountant - accounts payable (Chicago, IL)

Foxglove Meadow Press produces print and digital publications in Chicago, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 18 people based in Chicago. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around paper stock against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with press runs. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
